not so hot with the pictures and other random news

Well. I keep forgetting my camera for fun events. Sorry. I guess that happens when your only access to internet is at a temporary job. :)

We have had a very enjoyable christmas break! :) Cody finished this semester and got a 4.0!!! I am so proud of him. He is enjoying his time off. He's been really helpful around the house, cleaning and such. Its great to see him doing stuff and not worrying about homework.

We were planning on going to both Washington and Boise Christmas week, but we didn't end up getting to WA due to the weather and time. Dispatch needed someone to cover Christmas eve and christmas day due to a quick change of schedule, so they asked me to. Thats fine by me because its double pay and real easy! :) So we ended up leaving on the only good travel days of that week. Friday the roads were great to Boise, then saturday sunday and monday it was cold and snowy, then we left Tuesday, and the roads were great except in Pocatello, but all went well. We spent time with Cody's fam which was really fun. I met their new cat, "Precious". She was quite the fun cat :) We watched movies, ate cheese balls, had turkey, and coke of course. We had a hot tub party which was really fun. Cody and his sisters are crazy - they played rock paper scissors to see who would have to do snow angels in the snow - in their bathing suits. I'm glad noone got sick. I did not want to get out of the hot tub because even though it was lower than it was supposed to be temperature wise, it obviously was warmer than outside. If you know me, you know I hate being cold. For christmas this year I got awesome facial lotions and cleansers, snow boots (I needed those really bad), a Muppet Christmas Carol, ALL of the Harry Potter movies!, a christmas story, Beef sticks & cheese, gift cards, Chocolate, a wedding picture which my hair is photo shopped so I don't look bald!, and a wedding video (I think we accidentally left that there ...we need to get it back...its beautiful!) :) Anyway - so I was spoiled :) Cody got a new paintball gun, movies (iron man, the dark night..), PJ's, candy, and a bunch of random school/office supplies. :) Lots of fun!
Christmas eve I worked 6-6, christmas day 6-6, then the next night 6-6, and now 24 hours later i'm working another 6-6. So, these hours are a blessing :) really they are. PSR is going ok. I once again got my hopes up to get to full time hours......that I fear will never be a reality. I am sure i'd be better off looking for morning/day job to make up for my lack of full time hours. Cody hasn't found a job yet. Job searching is slow and kind of a let down most of the time up here in Rexburg. Oh well. such is life.

I have a sad cat story. So there is this Cat - I think i've mentioned it before- anyway our whole appartment complex has adopted it. It has several names, curly sue, stupid cat, that dang cat, ect...but ours is Cali Cat. Anyway so we really like having Cali cat around, we feed her and give her water and we gave her a coller and she has a special blanket that she has to lay on. Anyway - so its a joke with Cody and some of the guys from our ward that I take care of a nasty diseased stray cat - (she's sort of smelly somtimes but that other stuff is not true :P ) anyway so its pretty known I dont care that its stray. Well the other day I was working on campus and Cody called up and he was so sad over the phone. Keep in mind this was the day after we came back from a 4 day tHe said that some girl came knocking on our door and said that there was as cat that was under her car and she thought it was dying. Well - Cody thought it was Cali cat so he went with her to her car and found it lying on the ground crying. It wasn't Cali though. it was some other cat. Apperently the elderly people that live upstairs from us know we take care of that cat (which they hate). The elderly people are the Presidents of the club which the entire complex is operated under, so the girl asked them first thing...and they told the girl that we take care of the cats around there. So back to Cody by the car with the cat. Cody's first reactionw as - well we don't "own" Cali cat...and that cat certainly isn't ours - but even as he said that she picked up the cat and handed it to Cody. Cody brought it inside our house, which is a million times warmer - even if its freezing - than it is outside. On the phone he said the cat was really skinny and crying and in pain and he wasn't sure what to do. Well - since it was Christmas eve, noone was on call for animal control, Cody didn't want to drive out in the middle of noowhere to put it out of its missery because the roads were so bad he would get stuck - no doubt. I was going to get off work in 30 minutes so I told him to see if he could get it to drink any water until I got home. Well - Cody came to pick me up and he was sooo sad.....I tried to cheer him up and told him all the stuff I read in the twilight book which we've been kind of reading together on the trip. We walked into our home....and the cat was on the cat bed..........and i walked over to it and it didnt respond. The cat passed away from the ten minutes time it took for Cody to pick me up and take me home. Cody was SO so sad. So....i had him go in a different room...while I delt with the poor thing....and disinfected the couch and bed of the cat. After that we were so worried that Cali Cat was stuck somewhere in the feet of snow. Luckily though for us - just the next day or the day after she came up to our door just as healthy as ever!!!!! :) That other cat must have gotten very sick or something, because Cali was her fat happy self.

Well - if anyone read this - hopefully your mind has been blissfully numb for the past 5 minutes or so :)

Shop with a Cop

I love this program, they have it in many cities, I don't know if they have it back home in Walla Walla, but here in Rexburg it's pretty well known with many of my clients. Right now i'm workin dispatch and i'm listening, its 6am, and officers have been signing on since 5:30 a.m. to take kids, who's families really struggle, to go shopping for Christmas with money that has been raised and donated for this event. My clients that have gone have LOVED this holiday program. They felt really special to be shopping with a police officer. It's great to see what light it sheds on the officers to the kids, they know that they don't have to fear them. There is an interesting perception about Cops. A lot of people first think - well - this Cop thinks they're a.....jerk...for lack of an appropriate term. Or - they don't really care about people - or they just like to have power. Unfortunately - for some cops - as for anyone with any power position in ANY job (helping people or not) - that can be true. But for the majority of the time - the MAJOR majority of officers I have worked with and encountered, they're just dudes and gals like you and me. Just with a job to do. The shop with a cop program helps the kids to see that. They don't have to be intimidating. They're friendly. Sometimes I think if kids don't have to fear something, they wont fight it - or even challenge it as much. When you fear something - its usually because you don't understand it, or know whats behind it. Adults, role models, movies, TV, teach us what we "should" fear. Its cool to see when kids learn what is behind that fear, if its the thing itself that they're scared of, or if it is what comes of it that scares them. This opportunity to go shopping with a police officer just gives them another view - a new perception of police work - and the men and women in the uniforms. Its just so cool to know that this happens.

BE-E-A-UTIFUL!!!

I've been really stoked about holiday decorating :) Cody has been tolerating me well, and my day dreams about having wonderful decorations, ect. Well - We got a REAL tree (YES) its HUGE and BEAUTIFUL! :) It took me forever to decide what colors I should use for decorations. First I wanted plum purple and light gold. Then, there was dark red and white. Then red berries and yellow flowers. But finally we ended up with olive green, baby blue, off white, and dark navy blue! We have clear ice sicles, white and blue lights, sparkely pine cones I've made with my clients, and a silver star on top! :) Oh and little swirlley sticks with glitter on them. It is beautiful, and it smells even better! :) Cody was very patient with me and he helped me with the tree! :) Funny story though, neither of us have used fake snow before...and we thought we would try to spray the tips of the tree......luckily we only sprayed one side of the tree tips, it was not as pretty as we wanted it to be. I spent a good hour and a half to two hours trying to wash off the fake snow off that half of the tree....so we finally decided to just turn it around, becuase it was brighter green on the otherside anyway. Both sides of the tree are beautiful so it works perfect! :) We've learned our lesson though! I will post pictures on here. We still don't have internet so I get on here when I work night shift at dispatch.

Just FYI I love reading everyones blogs. :) Everyone is coming along beautifully! I'm very proud of all of my friends and family members :) You guys are AWESOME! :)

Can I just complain for a minute?!

Ok - not to judge twilight - but MAN why did you have to come out when Harry Potter was supposed to! I've been waiting for MONTHS for Harry Potter to come out and now I have to wait 9 more months!!!!!! AGH! To feel better about myself....I'll have to re listen to the books...since reading isn't so likely... I wish I could! I think Cody only knows my obsession with Harry Potter. The end.

Life update

I'm not the best blogger in the world. Here are a few small updates!

Cody and I are not going to Washington or Boise for thanksgiving anymore. It is better for us to stay in town and work. Lame! But it will be ok. Cody has a million projects in school, and I might get some good hours in!

Cody is off next semester from school. He's been working his butt off and needs a much deserved break! :) I appreciate how much work he puts into his school to get good grades (I never cared much about grades...). Cody has not even skipped class ONCE this semester. Amazing!

We have a random stray cat that we've kind of invited to be friends with it. It bums food off of us, and has claimed a spot on the blanket on a specific spot of our couch. We call the cat Cali -because its a Calicocat. She's cute, but is starting to get smelly since its been wet outside. One time - I had the window open (there isn't a screen), and Cali brought in a live bat........and it was flying around and she finally killed it on our carpet. A few days later - she left a dead mouse on our door step. She must love us a lot - or she used to. She hasn't left any dead animals for us - or live ones - for a while now. We'll have to put a picture of her on here. She kneeds the blanket for like 10 minutes, her favorite colors are green and pink - and anything soft and fuzzy, she has to be on it.

Cody and I haven't gotten really sick, as of yet. We're about due. I got kind of sick this last weekend...but not too bad. I've been giving us food poisoning or something, because it seems like everything we eat makes us sick. Or are we already sick? I'm not sure.

My job is going pretty good. Lucky for me and my clients - there isn't snow on the ground yet! Its amazing because last year in Rexburg, there already was like a foot of snow, or more. I just hope it stays that way for a while longer. I'm really enjoying working with my clients. I'm still a temporary worker "dispatch" - if you can call it that.... The campus police lost its policing powers due to some state law about private companies funding police agencies (not allowed in Idaho) anywhoo - now its campus security. Its still fun none the less.

Christmas is coming soon! :) And Christmas means Christmas decorations! My only complaint is - we have to buy a fake tree :( :( :(. I'm sort of sad, but luckily there is a really cute one that looks nice that we're going to get. Some day, in about 10 years, when we have our own house, we'll get a real tree --- every year! :) I am not sure what theme to make the tree - I have been looking at all the display ones and they're all Beauitful! :) We'll have to see how that goes. I'm already listening to Christmas music. YAY!


Cody and I will get pictures soon. I hope. :) And we'll put some on here. Theres not much difference - we're just a little fatter...but whats new ;) HAHA.

9/11

I'm watching the news special about 9/11 on Fox. I was just thinking about what I remember. I remember my friend Heather picking me up for school, I was in the 9th grade, and telling me that a plane had crashed into the world trade towers. I really didn't know what those were but I did know what terrorists were. That day in school in every class period we watched the news through out the day. We saw the video of the plane hitting the towers, and the pentagon burning, and heard about the other plane crashing in the middle of nowhere because the passengers and pilots didn't allow the terrorists hit their target. We saw video as the buildings were burning that people were jumping out. We heard estimates about how many people died, and listened to reports stating that emergency respondants (police officers, fire fighters, ambulence drivers, EMT's, nurses, military men and women) were all doing their best and risking their own lives, and some loseing their own lives, to save those people. We saw people who were not police officers or fire fighters, who were caught in the same destruction, helping other people who couldn't help themselves. So I guess on that day there were two major extremes in people. There were the totally insane brainwashed killers of terrorists who would kill themselves to gain a reputation for themselves and prove a point, and then regular joe and jane people who were extremely brave and were willing to sacrifice themselves to save others, at no reward for themselves.
But then today also - the officer on just told me - today some people set a temple on fire. its so sad how awful and hateful and greedy some people are. but its also great how willing to help some people are.

We got to go to Utah and see our family! This was the first time that Cody met the great majority of the Calton side of the family. It was lots of fun! We just hung out and everyone was at Aunt Janines house. It was kind of a zoo with a million kids running around and screaming...which is something Cody is not used to! :) Anyhow - it was a good time!

"DUDE - BRO!"

Cody always says "DUDE BRO" when he's excited about something to his buddies....... and i am just super stoked to be goin on trips!

First adventure - moving. Changing appts. Its kind of an unknown mess right now but we'll work it out.

Second adventure - YELLOWSTONE! I've never been to Yellowstone so i'm super stoked to GET OUT OF REXBURG and chill with da KILLPACKS! :) haha. Cody's little sister Sha is comin up and we get to spend time with her before the big moving weekend and thats really exciting. We haven't had a chance to spend some time with her yet. So that will be fun!

Third adventure - UTAH BABY! we get to go see ALL of the family! We're really excited about it. :) We're hoping to get a full family picture. I think the last time we had one I was like 10. So i'm stoked! AND cody will be in it of course so thats what makes it really awesome :) We get to see everyone! Aunt Cher and her fam! And Denise and her fam! Aunt Janine and her fam! ALL TOGETHER! whooo hooo!!!!!!

and a shocker to us ----- in Aug is Mr. and Mrs. Cody Killpack's 6TH MONTH ANNIVERSARY! Woah! We have been married almost six months? Super cool :)

Cody is doing great on finals! HE ROCKS! So i'm really happy for him!!! I'll put pictures up of all of our extreme adventures!

Codys favorite thing to do!

Cody and I went on a ward camp out for one night at Hise hot springs park kind of by Archer and Rire. We had fun with the ward eating food, hangin out, and telling stories around the camp fire. Cody was more excited than anything about the planned paintball game starting Saturday morning! A whole bunch of the guys from our ward have gotten into it......so they play almost every weekend. After a night of zero sleep and skunks screaming and spraying thru our tent site..... we woke up, ate breakfast, and tore down the tents. Of course the next item on the list to do was get th guns ready. The guys busted out their tools on the table with their towels and began fine tuning their beloved guns. Cody - being the mechanic he is, solved the problem for another paintball gun. After an hour of trying to fix CO2 leaks they were finally ready to go shoot each other. Bro. Barnes lead the road and 4 cars followed. After driving on a dirt road with really big rocks we ended up at a spot looking over a bunch of flat land by the snake river. From there the guys got ready and started shooting. This was Cody's and his 'angel's' (thats the brand of his new paintball gun) first time working together. Anyway - as usual - Cody totally kicked trash. As he would say it he "lit them up!". Here are some pictures :)

Cody and I went on our first camping trip together on July 5th! :) We went to the twin bridges camp grounds which is like 15 min away from our house --- but luckily it seemed like we were actually camping away from a ton of people and rexburg at least! We only spent one night there ..... actually we spent less than 24 hours there...but it was still a ton of fun! We played in the snake river and walked up the river a while and scouted out future spots to camp at. We made t-bone steak on this gril that my aunt her family got us and it was AWESOME! the steaks were perfect and it was a great post 4th of July dinner. We made corn on the cob on it and ate fake mashed potatoes. Later that night we just chilled around the fire and talked about whatever we wanted to and it was really fun. We made a big foot video --- can you guess who played the part of the hairy monster?!?! HAHAAHA! I will try to talk cody into letting me post the video we made making fun of this old school sasquatch research project. Its pretty much awesome! Anyway - so after the worst night of sleep ever..... we woke up and made pancakes. I forgot the syrup (i always forget SOMETHING) so to make up for that I made s'more pancakes... delicious. It was pretty dang good! OH i forgot to mention I sold my wedding dress! We used that money to buy a really awesome nice tent :) and we got some camp chairs and pegs or whatever they are called...and a hatched ect. So --- we were pretty stoked about that. This weekend we are going on a ward campout which will be tons of fun. Sadly we're going to be moving from the ward we're in. :( But - I really hope the new ward will be just as good. THere are some really sweet people in our ward right now! :) its really great! Anyhow - That is all that is new :) Much love!

Aug 1st!

Summer semester is almost over! YAY! Cody is getting really burnt out. He's worked his butt off. His mid term grades were 4.0 BABY! Cody works so hard and does an awesome job! :) I am so proud of him!!!I got a new job! Its working pretty well. Its pretty exciting and I am really looking forward to getting a better hang of things. Right now I feel like a total idiot ........ but once I get it i'll get it and get it done!Cody and I get to go to Yellow stone with his family!! We're going the first week of Aug. for a couple days. That will be WAY fun! I've never been there so i'm really excited to go! Then after that we're going to Utah to visit ALL my side of the family! I'm really excited about that! We're going the 8th thru the 11th ish (maybe a little less cuz of work). Then the weekend after that is the fair in Boise! So we'll be there the 16th and the 17th. Those are our exciting trips this summer! We'll be back in Boise once more i'm sure because Cody's best friend and his wife are having a baby! YAY!Also - Aug 1st we're moving! We're moving to Cougar court. Its kind of small - and a complex :P (bleh) BUT it will be nice to have neighbors close and stuff. We hope it will be a nice experience. Honestly im quite nervous about it. We will have our washer and dryer (WHOOO HOOO) with us still which is great! They will be in the kitchen area....there are holes in the wall to fit them in there but our dryer is too big so it will be sticking out retardedly half way into one side of the kitchen but HEY its all good! It will be nice in the winter time to not have to like drive to the laundry mat or go to the one in the complex becuase we're going to be on the 3rd floor. (Killer) Anywhooo ----- I don't think we have any thing else to update. :) MUCH LOVE!

Nothin new!

Cody and I are doing awesome! Sunday, June 1st, is our 3 month anniversary! Cody is pluggin away with his school work, getting awesome grades as usual! He's taking 17 credits and constantly studying. He works and gets his work done with maybe 5 hours of sleep a night if he's lucky. I think next semester it might be a good idea to take on a smaller load. Cody does security on campus, he's the lead lock up member in his crew. He has a few buddies from work and also from the ward that are starting to go paintballing more often, and he has been super stoked to go pretty much every weekend. He is borrowing his gun from his best friend Chris. Cody and I have started a "paintball" fund....so he can buy a gun and all of his little gadgets within - oh .... 5 years?! haha...ok he can't wait that long but we'll see. He recently bought a "hopper" which makes the paintballs drop into the barrel really fast, shooting I think he said 20 rounds per second. I can only imagine how many bruises that puts on someone. Cody came home with his left side all bruised up. Still, that doesn't keep him from paintballing. As for me, i'm still working PSR (Psychosocial Rehabilitation). I really enjoy my job but I think it would be much more enjoyable to have a regular 8-5ish job....instead of a never set time that usually ends at 9pm. I don't teach dance anymore because the PSR schedule is really weird. I wish I could, but there is really no option. Cody recently bought me some paint brushes and paints so I can have fun doing things at home. We still don't have TV, but that is ok because only a few shows are interesting. Can I just say - some of these t.v. shows are just stupid as heck. I was at a clients house yesterday and they were watching some show about these rich people living on the cost with a beach house and all kinds of luxuries....and there was all kinds of drama with adultery and poor parent child relationships and more sex and it was just gross. Who wants to watch a couple of 12 year old punks making out. Puke. Or anyone really. Anyway...all I want TV for is so Cody and I can watch cops, law and order and so I can watch animal planet, discovery channel and the food channel. Moving on - literally, Cody and I are looking for a new place to live by Aug. that isn't like $700/month to rent. Talk about sucking every dime away! We're hoping for $600/month MAXIMUM. But - I am coming to the reality where that may not be the option. Keep your fingers crossed - we might get lucky - I hope. Anyway - just a 3 month update. Oh - by the way....If you haven't gotten a Thank You card yet - I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN YOU - I keep forgetting to send them out!!!!!!!!! I'm really sorry. it will come soon.
